Bio

After having had the luck of learning languages in my youth and through absolute-immersion
scenarios, I obtained my Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing & Commerce first and then went on to
complete my education with a Bachelor’s Degree in Translation & Interpretation in 2010,
specializing in German & English.

A full-time translator since 2010, I have constantly & consistently worked in many different fields
although my main areas of expertise are marketing/business, which was by design, and medical
articles, which happened rather organically due to contacts in that sector through family and
friends.

One of the things you have notice about my rates is that there aren’t two columns for “Standard
Texts” and “Advanced Texts”. This is not only because it is very difficult (and subjective) to
gauge the difficulty of the source text, but also because the predictable reaction from potential
clients is to believe that no matter what text they submit to be translated it will be categorized as
“Advanced”. My decision was thus to always have the same rate regardless of language pairing
and subject complexity. In the unlikely event that a text is outside of my scope of knowledge, I
will inform you within 12 hours after receipt of the document. It has happened an average of
twice a year for the past decade, and that is of course receiving hundreds of documents every
year…

Besides my full-time dedication to translating I have also worked as interpreter in the courts of
Madrid, helping judges, lawyers, plaintiffs & defendants, both in simultaneous and consecutive
modalities. Although wildly interesting, I not only prefer but also excel at the translation of
written documents, where my standard daily capacity is of 4,000 words, with 7,000 words being
possible in especially urgent cases.

I use U.S. spellings per default but I can adapt any text into British English. For Spanish my
default variety is Iberian Spanish, although I can adapt to any South American variety. For
German I only work with standard German. Localization of measurement units is always included
free of charge.

Despite my main commitment being the translation of documents (webpages included), I also
have ample experience in copywriting texts for commercial purposes, as well as
editing/proofreading texts that are not quite up to the linguistic standard your company requires.

My goal isn't to maximize income for every hour of work - My goal is to obtain 8 hours of work a day
