I am a US–born native speaker of Spanish and have traveled to Cuba, Spain, Puerto Rico, and Mexico several times over the past decade. My educational background includes the Arts and Library Science, in addition to my Spanish language studies. I have completed my certificate in Translation Studies from the University of Chicago´s Graham School of Business. My areas of focus include Medicine and the Sciences, the Social Sciences, Culinary Arts, Education, Fine Art, Design and Architecture, and Technology.
I have 18 years of experience in translation and interpretation in educational settings as well as translating documents for profit and non-profit organizations. My language pair is Spanish-English, and am continuing my studies in Portuguese and German.
I have been involved in academic projects, including a translation project of a university proposal to study the geographic changes in Varadero, a popular tourist destination in Cuba for over 100 years. I also have experience translating medical and immigration documents.
Some of my most recent work has included the Society of American Archivists, Mozilla Webmaker, and QGIS, an open-source geographic information system application (through the Transifex translation environment). My most recent translation projects include several documents for the Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago (Zoolights 2018) and Jimijon.com (Jimijon releases INDX01: Perfect HODLR for All Your Coins).
