I’ve been working as a freelance translator since 2006, mainly translating English into Brazilian Portuguese, my native language. I also have experience of translating Portuguese into English.

I previously worked as a language teacher, first teaching Portuguese in the UK then English in Zimbabwe and Brazil. However, now I’m a mother, I’m focusing on translation, as it allows me more flexibility.


Translation services

I specialise in translating medical and pharmaceutical content. Recent projects have included:

• translating documentation associated with medical and pharmaceutical studies and product development into Portuguese
• translating questionnaires for patients and doctors into Portuguese
• and providing content analysis of their responses, working from Portuguese into English.


I also:

• translate market research materials for different sectors, from IT to cosmetics
• translate official and legal documents, including birth certificates and agreements
• translate educational materials, including course books and teacher training manuals
• localise technical and marketing copy to ensure it will work for a Brazilian audience
• provide monolingual revision and post-editing services, to improve text translated into Portuguese
• and offer telephone interpreting for organisations and individuals.
