Jan 22, 2007

Prompted by the discussion in the food thread, I was looking up the four tragedies of life(Chinese sayings) as I remember them:

Instead I found this bizarre article. Not to be controversial, but from what I gathered here and there, it might reflect on society today?

Thanks, Zhoudan, for the clarification and authoritative word.

奇文共欣赏 was a term often used during the Mao years (including the Cultural Revolution), which implied the author wasn't quite in his/her right mind.

So I wasn't too sure if 妙文 had the same disparaging effect in current vocabulary. I googled for it to find most of the usages being quite positive.

IMO, it's a great folder to have for a forum of this nature.

Jan 25, 2007

See more

I got an English copy too, but it ended up on the bookshelf.

In this age of information overload, there are too many distractions. A lot of DVDs of mine end up in the "to watch" pile if I don't get hooked in the first few minutes.
