在台湾时也有机会参观了一些中、小、大学,看到其中有些学校将其校训用横匾挂在礼堂、大门附近等当眼处,好像:

* 礼义廉耻;孝悌忠信;
* 敦品、励学、爱国、爱人;
* 己所不欲,勿施于人;
* 健康、关怀、创新、卓越。

开始时我不以为意,后来看到地铁交通乘客的良好素养后,深深觉得他们在这方面的国民教育是相当成功的。

现在中国大陆的很多大、中、小学也兴这一套,但关键在于要身体力行。不要墙上挂的是一套,具体做的又是另一套。例如

Indeed. A lot of it can be attributed to social mores and the proper upbringing.

Some new immigrants are slow to adapt. And if there's a language barrier, you often get a double-whammy situation.

我觉得 当年批孔 主要是 林彪事件引起的。

至于当时把孔子和林彪 扯在一起 是不是根本歪曲了孔儒观念,俺就不知道了。我在文革中可算是名副其实的逍遥派,所以当时批孔究竟批的是什么 我都没搞清楚 ...)。

把批林和批孔扯在一起,大概是因为林副统帅写了“克己复礼”的条幅,并挂在卧室墙上了吧。

批孔是文革期间所谓“破四旧”(破除旧思想、旧文化、旧风俗、旧习惯)的延续。“破四旧”把中国文化的精华都作为糟粕给破除了。甭提“孝悌忠信礼义廉耻”,当时连“博爱和平”也是要被批判的。

Sounds great too.

He could chair the three-member panel and might need a swivel chair placed on an elevated floor to make him look taller than other judges, just like Lord Sugar in the original UK version.

曾经在一个 Easter 刚过后的春天里去过荷兰,主要是去 Lisse 看郁金香和风车。虽然知道荷兰人爱骑自行车,可是当看到穿着各异的男女老少在 Amsterdam 街上骑自行车的景象时,还是震惊不已。他们用自行车驮着小孩,载着小狗;车筐里放着书籍,公文包,shopping bags, 鲜花。。。看上去觉得真是又亲切又新奇。

沿着运河的大树上也斜靠着很多自行车,好象都没有上锁;让人很想跳上一辆沿着运河骑下去。
